Aliases

An agency alias is a user-friendly identifier that others will use to connect with your agency from their digital identity wallet.

Aliases may be simple text words or be associated to a business domain name, email address or phone number. These special types of aliases require additional verification before they can be used.

Accessing the Aliases Page

To access the "Aliases" page:

  1. Go to the Administration section.
  2. Click on "Aliases," which is the second page listed under Administration.

Creating an Agency Alias

To create an Alias:

  • Click the "+Add Alias" button.
  • In the popup that appears, type the alias in the provided box.
  • Choose the alias type, which can be one of the following:
    • Normal alias (Default)
    • Email
    • Domain Name
    • Phone number
  • Enter the display name of your business. This name will be visible to users when they initiate workflows or receive proof requests from your business.

Default aliases don't require verification, but email, domain names, and phone number aliases must be verified before they can be registered.

Every agency has a default alias created upon agency creation, which is a global unique identifier (GUID). This default alias cannot be changed or deleted.

Action Menu for Aliases

In the action menu, you can perform the following actions:

  • Details: View information about the alias, including its name, display name, registration date, and expiration date.
  • Deactivate: Temporarily disable the alias, preventing users from connecting with your agency using it.
  • Renew: Renew an alias if it has expired.
  • Change Display Name: Modify the display name associated with your alias.
  • Delete: Delete the alias.
